About the event

“When I met with Don two years ago about his vision, I had no idea how powerful the film would be. It’s a must-see in this political hurricane we are in, and it’s a must-see as we each determine how to cull our incoming news to ensure we are not pawns to corporate greed, those who would have us believe lies, and how focusing on local news outlets might be an answer worth exploring.” – Christine Merser, Screen Thoughts

“Trusted Sources” shows how we have gotten through past cycles of mistrust, and how to avoid the pitfalls of agenda-driven content that’s often disguised as news. It goes behind the scenes to reveal how journalists produce the news in this precarious environment, and outlines the underpinnings of trustworthy journalism. It focuses on solutions, highlighting the ways news organizations are earning back trust, providing media literacy skills to help viewers detect manipulation, and shows how local news outlets – with the help of their communities - are finding ways to survive and thrive in a challenging news economy.

You may also watch the film ahead of time, and just join us for the Q&A. Register for the screening and you will receive the link to watch the movie, as well as the Zoom information.
